表语从句

主系表结构: I am a teacher.

跟在连系动词后面的成分叫做表语。

The fact is I have a lot of time.事实是我有很多时间。

The truth is David stole the homework.真相是大卫偷了作业。

表语从句的引导词

• that引导陈述句，无意义，书面语中不可省略.

  • The fact is that I have a lot of time.(that无意义)

• 陈述句的引导词还可以是as if, because等引导

  • It looks as if the teacher is stupid.好像老师很傻。(as if好像)

  • That is because I am hungry.那是因为我饿了.

• whether引导一般疑问句,意为是否（表语从句中不用if引导）

  • Are you an elephant? The question is ___.

    • The question is whether you are an elephant.

  • Can you eat the apple? The question is ___.

    • The question is whether you can eat the apple.

  • Do you have dinner every day? The question is ___.

    • The question is whether you have dinner every day.

• 特殊疑问词引导特殊疑问句

  • What is her name? The question is ___.

    • The question is what her name is.

  • Who will wash the clothes? The question is ___.

    • The question is who will wash the clothes.

表语从句的时态

• 当主句为现在时，从句可用各种时态。

  • The fact is that you are eating dinner now.

  • The fact is that he will come back soon.

• 当主句为过去时，从句可用各种过去时态。

  • The fact was that you were eating dinner.

  • The fact was that he would come back soon.
